NAGCAS Communications Initiative - 2012

As NAGCAS welcomes an expanded membership we extend our services to career development professionals and services from across universities, technical and further education colleges and registered training organisations. Our new communications streams will ensure that we get the right information to our stakeholders and deliver our mission:

to connect with our members - through regular Member Updates, providing information on NAGCAS activities and getting the most from membership

to support members - with an improved website that helps manage continuing professional development, houses key dates and activities and provides a resource for practice

to advocate for excellence in career development practice - through communicating NAGCAS activity, expertise and perspectives in a quartlerly newsletter to stakeholders and member services

The annual Employer Visits are a unique professional development opportunity where members meet with employers (on and off-site), network with careers colleagues and receive practical takeaway advice that can be shared with students. This year the focus in Sydney was on High Growth Industries. UTS, Sydney and UNSW universities each coordinated a day.

2011 NAGCAS Conference - Shifting Goal Posts - Career Sustainabilty in a Changing World

The 2011 NAGCAS conference ‘Shifting Goal Posts – Career Sustainability in a Changing World’ reflects an increasingly urgent need for flexibility and creativity for those involved in the career development of post secondary students - employers, academics, work integrated learning staff and career practitioners.

With the focus on ‘Change’, the conference will offer keynote presentations, concurrent sessions, and other conference activities exploring the wide range of ways in which we are being exposed to, and managing change to support career development across student, employer and stakeholder groups.

Speakers will come from careers, academia and industry from across Australia and provide exciting and challenging concepts that will inspire us all

This year’s conference will be held at the City Convention Centre at Victoria University, Melbourne.
