NAGCAS MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION 2011/2012
New membership categories were ratified as part of the constitution at the NAGCAS AGM in December 2009.
These categories came into effect in the last membership renewal cycle (commencing October 2010).
The new categories open membership to a broader base primarily for people from post-secondary institutions and are determined according to the policies and procedures of the Career Industry Council of Australia and its Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners. (see http://www.cica.org.au for more information). As a result there are changes to the membership forms linked below.
Membership fees
Membership fees remain the same for the 2011 -2012 membership year.

| 1. Careers Service Annual Membership | $143.00 (incl. GST) |
| 2.Head of Service Annual Membership | $88.00 (incl. GST) |
| 3. Individual Annual Membership | $88.00 (incl. GST) |
This membership also entitles the Head of Service to nominate the staff of their Service and related areas of the institution whose membership fees they will be paying for.
Please note that Heads of Service members are also required to complete their own individual membership.
With the introduction of the new Constitution (October 2010) there are now four different individual membership categories, based on career qualifications and current work within the post-secondary education sector. They are listed below with their definitions
Category A (Professional) - Work within the post-secondary education sector but have no career development qualifications.
Category B (Professional) - Work within the post-secondary education sector and hold a Certificate IV in Career Development.
Category C (Professional) - Work within the post-secondary education sector and have a minimum of a Graduate Certificate or Vocational Graduate Certificate in Career Development.
Category D (Affiliate) - Do not work within the post-secondary education sector yet are committed to the aims and objectives of the Association. (NOTE: You may hold career qualifications in this instance).
Please note: New members will be required to verify their career qualifications that are linked to the membership categories prior to ratification of membership.
From 2012 ALL members will be required to verify their career qualifications that are linked to membership categories as we move to a new Continuous Professional Development system.

This membership is available to a Careers Service and also allows for the nomination of representative to the Institutional Representative Committee of NAGCAS (formerly the Heads of Service Committe)
